ESJI’s main focus is the promotion of social justice through human rights by seeking to uphold the universal human rights for minorities (persons living with disabilities, women and children, marginalized groups and  indigenous communities). The organization seeks to hold the government and other actors accountable to their obligations to respect, protect, and fulfill their human rights obligations to minority communities.

The Economic and Social Justice Institute main objectives are to support the empowerment of Kenyan citizens to demand for their economic and social rights through advocacy, citizen participation, education and other related services.
