We are a feminist organization working to advance women’s rights with a special focus on leadership and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. We promote equality and fight injustices towards women and girls.

We focus on building the collective voice, power, and influence of young women by strengthening their knowledge and skills to make informed choices, participate in decision making, mobilize and take collective action on issues affecting them. Our work on transformational, reproductive and gender justice is underpinned by transforming social norms and addressing unequal power relations, values and practices. We believe in amplifying women’s voices and  work in partnership with other key players as a sustainable approach and strategy to achieving our goals and objectives. GAL’s work primarily targets women and girls, while we work with policy makers, civic and traditional leaders, parents and guardians, men and boys, community gate keepers and other key stakeholders. Our Goal is to have a society in which all girls, young women and women freely enjoy their human rights and actively participate at all levels of decision making. Our Mission is to build and strengthen the knowledge and capacity of young women and foster an enabling social and policy environment in which they can meaningfully participate at all levels of decision making. We hold government and policy makers accountable for the implementation of national,regional and international commitments,and ensuring enactments, review and implementation of laws and policies that support women and girls’ participation in leadership and decision making and access to quality affordable information and services.We implement through capacity building and strengthening using Feminist Popular Education, leadership development, inter and intra generation dialogue and mentorship, community Engagement and work, policy engagement and advocacy, paralegal services, mentorship and Shadowing. Networking and partnerships

Ms. Wanki is a seasoned social, legal and corporate professional with over 10 years of experience implementing rights-based and gender-transformative approach initiatives for individuals, communities and organisations focusing on social development, gender equality and mainstreaming, land rights, juvenile justice and legal advice, research, women and children’s rights, human rights, youth empowerment and meaningful youth participation, young women’s leadership development, and sexual and reproductive health and rights. Her experience also spreads to corporate and non-corporate marketing and communications and programme design. Ms Wanki has also designed and implemented HIV programs, worked with orphans and vulnerable children including street children and children in conflict with the law. She has wide experience and expertise in advocacy and policy engagement. She is currently serving as executive director for Generation Alive a Zambian feminist organisation working to advance women and girls' rights. By joining the network, I am looking to share ideas, experience ,broaden our network, strengthen my, capacity build connections and develop relationships.
