Initiative for global change Registered with the district and Kululu Sub County under code KUL/000356 the main objective of the organization is to address the negative impact of poverty among the refugees and the host communities through creating skilled based economic activities.I.G.C is a nonprofit making organization with no discrimination on political, religious, gender and social aspects.The formation of the group sparked off when the members thought of engaging in socioeconomic activities for community transformation  through providing reusable Sanitary Pads, bag designing using beads, conducting Talent promotions, adolescent peer education, Artwork, Music and film production, music, dance and drama, Graphics and Design, construction works, Branding, briquettes production etc. The group act and serves as an umbrella and a voice for the youths to help solve the problems they face in a fair and justifiable ways,These services were identified to be priority for socio-economic development. One of the top problems affecting the refugees and the host community’s youths after the outbreak of civil war in south Sudan.Talents of young men and women are buried due to lack of initiatives, long distances to exercise their talents rendering them Jobless hence unemployed leading to increase in criminal offenses of rape, prostitution, drug abuse,violence among families due to economic hardship.

I am a south Sudanese by nationality and refugee by status basing in Bidibid refugee settlement yumbe district kululu sub-county yoyo parish in residential area of village two block c, and married. I hold a certificate for basic nurse, auxiliary lab assistant and music audio producer as per my qualifications. i work for initiative for global change as the managing director and a audio music producer. My role is to direct the activities of the organization by creating skilled based economic activities. These activities will improve the standard of living between the host communities and refugees in the area of operation the C.B.O is a refugee led organization operating in the refugee settlement in yumbe district aiming at empowering youths transforming communities for development. initiative for global change is established for the purpose of acting in the overall interest of the community with respect to improving the quality of life and poverty alleviation within the community, eliminating illiteracy on computer technology,uplifting the youths who has talent in music. We train women and youths on handcraft making e.g. Necklaces, reusable sanitary pads, showing of pullovers, Bag designing with beads, Soap Making and football making etc.
To conduct awareness on peace building and SGBV for peacefully co-existence within the community
To sensitize the community on the moral up rightness in order to improve the behaviors of the youths who are the most influential in the community. To undertake any activity which the members generally consider beneficial to the community and promote the spirit of self-reliance among the youths and women/girls. The purpose of joining the network is to be engage in productive programs in the collaboration process also to develop an appreciation and respect for the various roles/aspects inherent in the program description and getting exposed to other organizations/Dorners during the collaboration process.
