IDEALS, Inc. is a legal-focused advocacy and service institution organized to address the legal and technical needs of the marginalized, disempowered and vulnerable groups, particularly the agrarian reform beneficiaries, farmer-traders and migrants sector of society. It assisted farmers, agrarian reform beneficiaries, agricultural tenants and lessees, their groups, associations, cooperatives and indigenous peoples in seeking legal solutions through the use of meta-legal and legal strategies on their land rights and tenure issues. It also handled corporate housekeeping, legal due diligence, and other regulatory concerns of NGOs, INGOs, and their local institutional partners.
It envisions an empowered and resilient citizenry sustained by participatory and accountable governance, equitable enjoyment of resources and opportunities, and accessible justice.
Greetings! I am Ansheline Mae A. Bacudio, a practicing Project and Litigation Lawyer. I am writing to express my interest in joining your network. I am currently the Legal Coordinator of Initiatives for Dialogue and Empowerment through Alternative Legal Services, Inc. (IDEALS, Inc.), a non-government organization, legal-focused advocacy and service institution organized to address the legal and technical needs of the marginalized, disempowered and vulnerable groups, particularly the agrarian reform beneficiaries, the persons & communities affected by disasters, and recently victims of human rights violations. Being a lawyer, it has developed in me through practicean enthusiasm to provide legal services and a true passion in sharing my knowledge and skills to others. As such, it subsequently convinced me that being a tool for legal empowerment is one of my many callings. Thus, I wish to expand my knowledge, skills and commitment to excellence with the help from your wide network.
I am currently the Executive Director of the Initiatives for Dialogue and Empowerment through Alternative Legal Services (IDEALS), Inc. IDEALS pioneered in providing legal service delivery in natural/man-made disaster stricken areas by establishing legal identity of victims/survivors thru legal/civil documentation allowing them to access to benefits, claims and other social services. Prior joining IDEALS, I was a Manager of the Training and Consulting Unit of Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) for 8 years. I was also the Regional Officer for Visayas for 8 years with PAKISAMA (Pambansang Kilusan ng mga Samahang Magsasaka). I began my career in development work as Community Organizer for PhilDHRRA and Ateneo's Office for Rural Development-Center for Community Services.
Working full time as a human rights lawyer with the IDEALS Inc. Our team of Human Rights lawyers and paralegals are currently concentrating on the documentation of Human Rights violation cases directly associated with the War on Drugs of the present administration.
