medica Liberia’s forerunner, medica mondiale (mm), an international feminist organization based in Cologne, Germany, was called to action in Liberia in 2006, in the aftermath of the violent back-to-back civil conflicts in Liberia which was waged in the period 1989-2003. medica Liberia became a local Liberian owned organization in 2014 and continues to cater to the needs of survivors of sexual sexual gender based violence .

Vision: medica Liberia envisions a just and violence-free society where women and girls live in dignity.

Mission: medica Liberia is a feminist organisation committed to transforming society and supporting women and girls affected by all forms of violence through direct services , capacity development, advocacy and advancement of women’s rights.

• The provision of Direct Support Services (Legal/access to justice, psychosocial and reproductive health )
• Capacity Development of state sexual gender based violence actors such as health workers, police and court officials.
• Advocacy and Advancement of Women’s Rights – with focus on influencing the implementation and or development of women rights laws and policies.
