Mukira, is a civil society organization, awarded internationally by UNESCO
that works in the education and mobilization of young people and society in favor of human rights  and gender equality. The work of the nonprofit association focuses on the prevention of violence, with particular emphasis on abuse and sexual violence.
Acknowledgments

In 2013, UNESCO recognized the methodology of working with young people in Mukira, as one of the 15 best in the world.
First place in the “gender and justice” contest organized by the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation and UN Women.

Silvia Holguin

Sylvia Holguín is a social activist and defender of Mexican human rights. She work in support of families of women victims of gender based violence and femicide. Actually she has worked in Mukira since 2016 and she took the role as Mukira ́s regional director in January 2018. Ms. Holguín holds a Master in Business Administration degree, and she has a degree in International Relations from Tecnológico de Monterrey. Silvia has over 8 years of experience managing education projects and programs from the United States Government. For 8 years, she served as Education Manager for the CEDEHM, a non profit organization, where she developed curricula, organized and led workshops and coordinated logistics for all education program. She is an expert in engaging multiple government, businesses and civil society sectors.
