NNDSWO has been in operation since 1982 with following objectives:
• To promote human rights and social justice as well as participation of Dalits in all spheres of state structures and end caste based discrimination and untouchability practices in the society.
• To build capability and confidence of Dalits to explore their full potential and live a productive life by enhancing their access to quality education, and health services including water and sanitation.
• To promote sustainable livelihoods and entrepreneurship among Dalits and enhance their access to resources, services and opportunities
• To strengthen NNDSWO’s organizational structure, systems, process and procedures as well as capacitate human resource for enhanced programme intervention (both in terms of outreach and impact).

Suresh Bahadur Bishwakarma is a young, energetic, and qualified Dalit community member. He has dual Master’s degrees in Management and Sociology.

He has worked in social development, education, health, legal empowerment, human rights, justice, and civic awareness for the disadvantaged since 2003 when he began at the NNDWSO. He specializes in human rights issues of Dalit, women, children, Haliya, Kamiya, Badi, and other marginalized peoples in the remote and rural regions of Nepal.

Other professional experiences include paralegal programs in Kailali and Doti district, CSO governance, policy and procedures, human rights advocacy as an officer in the Dalit Human Rights Advocacy program, and as an election observer in 2008. He now works in the voter education program in a western region of Nepal.
Hira Vishwakarma is the network champion (main point of contact) for Nepal National Dalit Social Welfare Organization (NNDSWO).
