My role in Northern Rangelands Trust organization is to effectively build sustainable peace between Communities in Northern Kenya. As a head of Peace department, I work to complement the county and National government agencies in addressing triggers of Conflict by advocating for good governance to ensure quality leadership, inclusivity, gender mainstreaming, women rights, assist in formulating coherent policies for peaceful society among other roles in my current position. I've been honored with head of state Commendation (Civilian Division) out of my commitment. I have a background in Pastoralist lifestyle before initiating Community conservancy for the love of Protection of the environment and Wildlife, in my period as the first Chairperson in my community led conservancy, I championed for Women rights, advocated for women involvement in decision tables and in Leadership. I am interested to learn more and expand my knowledge and skills to be a better person and positively impact change in my society especially in my position as a board member of Kenya Wildlife Conservancy Association.
Josphine Ekiru is the network champion (main point of contact) for Northern Rangelands Trust.
