i work as program officer at pastoralist development network of kenya,an advocacy organization that works to identify gaps in policies that affect the indigenous communities in kenya mainly (pastoralists ,hunters&gathers and fishers people). iam currently implementing program on women and land rights focusing on grassroots ,national and regional engagements to build the capacity of women to fight for their rights on land matters.kenya has experience large acquisition of land by investors and even the government taking communally land for projects without free prior informed consent to the community especially women.these rural women are not aware of the existing laws that protects them most of them do not access this information because of the illiteracy level and even the cultural values that bar them from attending various forums where men are.i need to strengthen my advocacy skills on women and land rights so that i can use it while carry out my advocacy work here in kenya
