Focus: Criminal Justice, Economic Empowerment, Education, Gender-based violence, Health

PathFinders Justice Initiative, Inc.® is an international independent agent of change which boldly charges the darkness to identify and expose pockets of injustice against women and girls in the developing world. We work to liberate women and girls trapped in modern day slavery (sex trafficking). We also seek justice and provide rehabilitation for these survivors as well as female survivors of rape and child sex abuse. Because we believe in community transformation, we also strive to empower silenced voices via our #TakeMeOffMute™(anti-child sex abuse), #SheSaidNo (anti-rape) and #Not4Sale (anti-sex trafficking) campaigns, raise awareness and sensitize the public on the implications of these atrocities. We are prevention focused. PJI believes and invests in the complete physical, emotional, psychological and economic restoration of female survivors of violence who will serve as agents of change and pathfinders in their respective communities.

I am the founder and Executive Director of Pathfinders Justice Initiative, Inc. (PJI), an international NGO which seeks justice and provides rehabilitation for survivors of sex trafficking, rape and child sex abuse in the developing world. I am also a trained English Barrister and an American lawyer who worked as a partner in a national defense law firm in New York for over a decade before venturing full time into activism on behalf of women and girls. As a native of Nigeria, I am particularly passionate about addressing the shrouded issues of child sex abuse, sex trafficking (modern day slavery) and gender based violence in the developing world because of my compelling commitment to the liberation of women in developing countries. My passion and compassion are geared towards developing a generation of women who stand confident in who they are, what they bring to the table and what they can achieve. I am a firm believer that if you can empower a woman and engage men as allies for gender justice, you can change any society. I am also a speaker and published writer whose voice echoes thousands of young voices via PathFinders’ #Not4Sale (anti-sex trafficking), #TakeMeOffMute (anti-child sex abuse) and #SheSaidNO (anti-rape) campaigns. I have been named as one of New York’s New Abolitionists (www.newyorksnewabolitionists.com), am an organizer for #BringBackOurGirls, the global movement demanding the return and rehabilitation of 276 girls from Chibok, Nigeria who were abducted by Boko Haram terrorists in April 2014. I am interested in joining the network to collaborate and learn from other members as we collectively work to provide the communities we serve with access to information and legal services.
