The Council for Affirmative Action (COFAA) which was formerly known as “Prison Inmate Development Initiative”, is a Private an independent non-governmental organization (NGO) register with CAC under LTD/GTE; as a regional organization in Africa that focuses to protect, promote and advocate for accountability, civil, economic, social, and political rights of Africans. COFAA was Established in 2012 by Convention of Pro-bono Lawyers, Human Rights Defenders, Journalists and Social Workers, With focuses on the Justice, security and private sector and aims to ensure that the rights of citizens as guaranteed in the constitution(s) and the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights are respected and upheld.

To promote accountability and respect for human rights in the justice, security and private sector, and to advocate for the protection and promotion of civil, economic, social, and political rights of Africans.
