Rights & Rice Foundation (RRF) is a non-governmental organization registered in Liberia with the overall aim of working for social justice and community empowerment. RRF has three major programmatic areas: Governance including political and economic governance, Community Empowerment and Conflict Medication and Peace Building. The Vision of RRF is, “An equitable society characterized by respect for the rule of law and equal opportunities for all.” The Mission Statement is: “To promote social, economic and political rights through empowering people who suffer injustice and lack equal opportunities.”

RRF has an organizational structure with 4 layers:

  1. Board of Directors, comprising 5 persons that provide overall policy direction to the organization;
  2. Executive Director heads the management team
  3. Program Coordination Unit; heads of Administration & Finance Unit, Operations & logistical unit and Program Coordinator;
  4. Project Teams including Field officers, Training facilitators, etc.

Relevant Experience

Right and Rice Foundation (RRF) as a registered NGO has over the years worked tremendously at both community and national level to ensure marginalized people in society are given equal rights and opportunities in society. RRF has implemented number of programs across Liberia, working with women groups, farmers, youth and other marginalized groups. Some of the programs implemented by RRF have gender issues and women access and rights to land are cross-cutting activities. Listed below are summary of some of RRF latest land related programs:

a.Undertook a study to establish knowledge base of women members of community based groups in 5 communities on issues of land tenure, land rights and ownership and title to land for women

b. Assessment on Sime Darby’s compliance of ‘’Free Prior and Informed Consent’’ in 8 communities in Liberiac. Men’s Involvement in fostering gender equality, peacebuilding and prevention of SGBV”
