The Rural Women Rights Structure, RWRS, is a leading national women rights organization that works to mainstream young women and girls’ engagement in human rights, development and governance processes in Liberia. RWRS was started in 2008 to respond to the increasing demand for a collective platform for economic empowerment, training and human rights advocacy for young women and girls by young women and girls including youth.

Since its inception, RWRS has been positioning the youth, women and young girls to play a leading role in community building by enhancing their visibility in human rights and governance processes in rural Liberia. RWRS has also worked to support women and young girls empowerment through creating platforms and infrastructure with which they can debate critical women issues, build their capacity, carry out lobbying and advocacy, and generate economic change.
