SODECA is a non-governmental organization working with marginalized communities in Kenya, with a special focus on the progressive realization of socio-economic and cultural rights. SODECA envisions a society that enjoys health and human rights, social justice, gender equality, and freedom from poverty. SODECA takes a human rights-based approach to development, with a mission of supporting people living in poverty to become conscious of their human rights and resilience and, addressing the social determinants of health.

Our program activities are based on a human rights framework, including the right to be free from discrimination, coercion, and violence as well as on the principles of bodily integrity, dignity, equality, and respect for diversity as part of affirmative sexuality, and guided by principles of humanity, neutrality, and impartiality in every action of our programs’ activities. We believe in education as a fundamental component in achieving equity and equality.

Our key thematic areas are; Health and Human Rights, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Emergency Relief Aid, Community Empowerment, and Social Development.
