The Zimbabwe Exiles’ Forum (ZEF) is a Non-Profit Organisation formed by Zimbabwean political and economic refugees resident in South Africa and neighbouring countries in 2003 and registered as such in 2004.

The organization was formed principally to document and educate the hordes of Zimbabwean political and economic refugees resident in legally or illegally in South Africa, Botswana and other countries neighbouring Zimbabwe on the principles on the rule of law, governance, democracy and human rights.

Mission Statement

To combat impunity and achieve justice and dignity for victims of human rights violations occurring in Zimbabwe with particular emphasis on the exiled victims.

The objectives of ZEF are as follows:

To investigate, document, litigate and advocate on human rights abuses perpetrated by the Zimbabwean Government and its agencies on its citizens
The empowerment of all Zimbabweans in exile
To provide social, legal and economic assistance to Zimbabwean exiles and Refugees
To assist victims of human rights abuses obtain justice where it is being denied.
To provide access to education and vocational training
To foster a spirit of fellowship among those in exile
To provide any other assistance necessary for the dignity and well-being of all exiles from Zimbabwe, in particular victims of torture, political violence and other human rights abuses in Zimbabwe
To monitor violations of the rights of those in exile with a view to work towards their protection
To dissuade Zimbabwean exiles from crime
To cultivate and foster a sense of national pride and patriotism among Zimbabwean exiles with a view to facilitating return to Zimbabwe after democracy has been restored
