Sierra Leonean villagers renegotiate rights under new agreement with Addax Bioenergy

At a lively community meeting on March 8th, representatives of land-owning families of Sierra Leone’s Masethele village signed an acknowledgement agreement with officers of Addax Bioenergy, bringing an end to an uneasy 2-year stand-off between the community and the company.

With support from Namati and the Sierra Leone Network on the Right to Food (SiLNoRF), the community’s efforts are helping to redefine its relationship with its most valuable resource – land.
