Abed, who passed away in December 2019, served as Chairperson for the Advisory Council. He was the founder and chair of BRAC, one of the world’s largest development organizations and a member of the UN Commission on Legal Empowerment of the Poor, a global initiative that focused on the link between exclusion, poverty and law.
