Sunyoung “Sonia” Park is the Managing Director of Strategic Engagement at Namati, where she leads the organization’s resource mobilization and communications efforts. In this role, Sonia focuses on weaving all aspects of Namati’s work – from local to national to global, from dignified healthcare to minority rights to climate justice – into a unifying, inviting dream.
Since joining Namati in 2019 as a Justice Financing Advisor, Sonia’s accomplishments have included leading the process to secure the $20 million-Racial Equity 2030 Award, as well as helping launch the COVID-19 Grassroots Justice Fund, which awarded $880,000 to 60 organizations worldwide during the pandemic.
Prior to Namati, Sonia spent 9 years at Ashoka, where she founded Ashoka’s South Korea office and collaborated with colleagues in over 30 countries to support system-changing social entrepreneurs. Sonia holds a BA from Johns Hopkins University and a Graduate Diploma from the American University in Cairo.
