Baseline Survey: The knowledge, awareness, practice & prevalence rate of gender based violence (GBV) especially sexual violence among women and girls with intellectual disabilities

In May and June 2013, COVAW in consultation with KAIH engaged a consultant to carry out this study. The consultant was asked to collect and collate data through various methodologies including face-to-face interviews, document review and focus group discussion on the knowledge, awareness, practice and prevalence rate of gender-based violence, especially sexual violence, among girls and women with intellectual disabilities. This report is the key deliverable of this task and its purpose is to present findings from the completed field work of data collection, highlight opportunities for strengthening the planned interventions of both COVAW and KAIH and as well as provide recommendations for future integrated efforts on the same.
