Pace Plans ‘Legal Residency Program’

This article reviews recent school-supported law firms or “legal residency programs” at schools such as Pace Law School and City University of New York School of Law. Includes information on Incubator for Justice, part of CUNY’s Community Legal Resource Network. Published in the New York Law Journal.

CUNY Law created the first in the nation “business incubator” for alumni.  Unlike other incubator-business models, CUNY Law’s “Incubator for Justice” has a twin goal of helping lawyers learn how to run a business (their own law practice) while helping them become lawyers in low-income communities that often lack access to outstanding, low-cost legal representation.
