Empowering Women: An Assessment of Legal Aid Under Ecuador’s Judicial Reform Project

The World Bank is making efforts to widen the scope of its legal and judicial reform programmes beyond strengthening institutions. Its aim is to design more holistic projects that encompass all actors and organizations with a stake in the administration of justice. This report assesses the Bank’s first attempt to incorporate a programme of legal services for women in the judicial reform operation, implemented in Ecuador.
