Johanna is a Senior Associate on the Global Land, Environment, and Climate team at Namati, bringing over 12 years of experience supporting global environmental and land rights initiatives through strong operational coordination and cross-cultural collaboration. She has dedicated her career to advancing environmental justice and participatory governance across Mexico and Latin America, working extensively with Indigenous grassroots communities and in legal empowerment contexts. Johanna holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Law and Public Policy with Honorable Mention from the Universidad del Medio Ambiente (UMA) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Global Development Studies, Cum Laude, with a specialization in Business Administration from Seattle Pacific University.
Alongside her field and operational achievements, she remains committed to academic mentorship, serving as a graduate advisor for over 25 Master’s-level projects at UMA focused on environmental law, water justice, and public policy proposals. Throughout her career, she has successfully coordinated complex multi-country initiatives, built administrative infrastructures, and managed stakeholder engagement across diverse contexts.
