Originally from Bo in southern Sierra Leone, Sheik received his Bachelor’s degree at Fourah Bay College. Since he graduated, he has worked for several human rights organisations, including the National Power Authority, BRAC, Childfund, and the Legal Aid Board.
Most recently at the Legal Aid Board, Sheik served as a paralegal in the Bonthe district where he practiced legal empowerment in small communities. Here he was also responsible for preparing court files for lawyers when they had cases in court and securing bail for young people in conflict with the law.
Sheik has received extensive training on negotiation, arbitration, the ADR process, and land and environmental protection.
