Anne is a Senior Environmental Justice Officer at Namati. In her role, Anne will work closely with Namati’s country teams to build out new areas of work. She will also draw on learning from grassroots casework and comparative analysis of legal frameworks to develop actionable policy recommendations for more effective, community-centered land and environmental governance. Anne will also foster engagement across Namati teams on common themes and connect experimentation within Namati to movement building in the Grassroots Justice Network.

Anne holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Kenyatta University in Kenya and is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. Prior to joining Namati, Anne worked at Natural Justice (a pan-African Organization that empowers communities to pursue environmental and climate justice) in different capacities and most recently as a Program Officer at Natural Justice's East African Hub and as the East African Hub's Just Energy Transition in Africa representative. Through legal empowerment, policy advocacy and litigation, Anne has supported marginalized communities to know, use and shape the law.

Anne is passionate about building an African agenda for the just energy transition.

Arone was born in the Vilankulo District of Inhambane Province. He concluded secondary education at Mucoque Secondary School in Vilankulo. From 2009 to 2013, he worked at the Association ADEI as a volunteer activist in the areas of Active Search and Prevention of PLWH and as a program officer in OVC support in Vilankulo district.

Artur was born in the Inhambane district of Massinga. He is trained in primary school education, and previously worked for four years as an elementary school teacher. He was also previously the Vice President of the Hanyane Association, a group organized by Samaritan's Purse for the prevention and fight against HIV. In his free time, Artur enjoys reading novels, newspapers, and the Bible.

Aubrie joined Namati's global people team in 2023 as Senior Talent Officer, supporting all organizational talent functions and finding the right people to join us as we continue to grow the movement for legal empowerment. Before joining Namati, Aubrie served as Talent and Operations Manager for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Connecticut, leading hiring processes and cultivating a culture of belonging for the organization's interns, staff, and board members. She earned her undergraduate degree in American Studies from Smith College and her Master's in Organizational Leadership from Quinnipiac University. Aubrie enjoys dark chocolate (first and foremost); completing 2,000-piece puzzles; re-watching The Office annually; and exploring new places with her wife, Eliza, and dog, Zeko.

A Sierra Leonean and lover of classical and church music, Babafemi has over 25 years of professional experience in both public and private sectors including the UN in financial management, HR, procurement, risk and audit assurance. Until recently, he was Director of both Freetown Nominees Limited and Moore International for nine years. He holds a Bachelor in Science with Honors in Applied Accounting, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Accounting and Finance and an honorary Doctorate of Business Administration. Babafemi also holds a host of professional certifications, including membership to the prestigious Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accounting in the UK. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Financial Managers UK. He has undertaken a host of international training in UN finance, financial management, debt management, financial programming and policies, advanced data analysis and procurement.

Baindu Koroma began working as a paralegal at Timap for Justice in 2009. As a community-based paralegal, she offered assistance in navigating local authorities and worked to resolve disputes through mediation, advocacy, education and litigation. Beginning in 2012, she worked as team leader for the Bo office in the Criminal Justice Program of Timap, providing legal education and reintegration assistance to persons in conflict with the police, prisons and courts. She has also worked as a paralegal at AdvocAid, providing legal education to women in conflict with the law. In May 2014, she joined Namati as a Call Center Advocate, providing counseling and legal education while working to connect clients with service providers. Since July 2016, she has worked as a Legal Empowerment Advocate in the Namati Sierra Leone Kenema office.

Bangalie was born in Port Loko District Sierra Leone. At the age of six he was relocated to Freetown where he gained his elementary and high school education. He holds a Diploma in Business Management at Milton Margai College of Education Science and Technology, and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management at the University of Makeni (UNIMAK). Bangalie has worked as a local and Magistrate Court monitor for Sexual and Gender Based Violence Cases through Center for Accountability and the Rule of Law (CARL) in Makeni Northern Sierra Leone. He has also served as a facilitator for the Non – Formal Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) through the German Government Skill – Up! Project. Bangalie is a very athletic individual and loves playing volleyball and Basketball. At Namati, he works as an office assistant in running the day to day administrative affairs of the office and also supporting paralegals meeting the needs of our client and communities in order to know law, use law and shape law in empowering communities advocating for themselves when the need arises.

Belmira Checo, nascida na Cidade de Maputo, licenciada em Direito pela Superior de Economia e Gestão (ISEG). Trabalhou como secretaria dos Recursos Humanos do centro juvenil Mozarte, foi promotora do preservativo feminino (jeitosa) no PSI, Activista do programa Geração Biz por 10 anos e conselheira do programa SMS-Biz. Durante este tempo desenvolveu uma paixão no trabalho comunitário, o que lhe motivou a se juntar a Namati onde desempenha a função de Defensora de saúde.

Benedito Mudine is a native of Inhambane, Mozambique. From 2012 to 2016 he was employed as a senior accountant and auditor for the Administrative Court of Inhambane Province, where he also managed and oversaw all procurement processes. Benedito has taught courses in finance, accounting and human resources at a number of public and private universities in the region. He earned degrees in business management and accounting from Universidade Mussa Bin Bique in Inhambane and is currently pursuing a masters degree threough a distance learning program ar the University of Barcelona. Benedito joined Namati in October of 2016.

Benigna da Constância José is a Mozambican. She's a Law Graduate from the University Mussa Bin Bique and a humble, Christian person from a rural family. Her professional career began in 2020 as a community health activist in CCS for six months. Her professional experience in providing support in contact tracing, drug delivery, collection and delivery of samples in the US, of patients affected by tuberculosis, as well as conducting community lectures on the prevention of various diseases motivated her to join Namati and contribute to the organization's work.
